ICFJ recognized digital news pioneers Lina Attalah of Egypt and Roman Anin of Russia in 2020 for their groundbreaking work. Each year, the International Center for Journalists honors outstanding colleagues with the ICFJ Knight International Journalism Award at our Tribute to Journalists.

The International Press Institute (IPI) vehemently condemned the Egyptian government’s arrest yesterday of Mada Masr editor-in-chief Lina Attalah and urged the international community to press for an end to the harassment and intimidation of journalists in Egypt. Lina Attalah is 37 years old. She was born in Egypt in the year 1983. Attalah has a separate Wikipedia page. However, it is very hard to find personal information about Lina.
